BASLE & GENEVA 2008

Every year, the leading luxury brands, watch houses and designers exhibit their latest creations in BASLE and GENEVA. It is the largest and most prestigious event in the watch and jewellery industry and sets future fashion trends.

Michael Laing and Susan Thomson, our jewellery buyer, selected the latest designs from Chopard, Bulgari and Mikimoto, among many other great designers. Anthony Burtenshaw then joined Michael to select the winning new models from Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Breitling, Omega, IWC and TAG Heuer to ensure we have the finest range of watches.

Michael says “rose gold is emerging as a more popular metal in jewellery and watches, and large watch dials are still the most fashionable. In spite of a gloomy economy, the trade fair was very buoyant with many brands reporting record sales”.

Tenovus Fundraiser

Parkhouse the Jeweller was delighted to support The Tenovus Cancer Charity at a fundraising ball on 31st March 2007.

Tenovous was set up in 1943 by ten businessmen (the 'ten-of-us') and now invests around £3.9 million each year on cancer research, patient care, counselling and education.

The James Bond themed event took place at the Holland House hotel with Aston Martin cars on show, a Sean Connery look-a-like and a Shirley Bassey impersonator.

Parkhouse the Jeweller was delighted to donate an Omega Bond Seamaster watch which raised £1450 for the charity.
